Details Revealed for the Final Race of 2021

The fourth and final event in the 2021 Adventure Race series see Questars return to an area which is always popular with participants. However, the last time a Questars event was held in this part of the National Park was way back in 2016. Doesn’t time fly? So a revisit is long overdue!

Obviously this announcement today means that there won’t be a Questars event in Dorset or the Brecon Beacons in 2021. These Questars adventure races were due to take place earlier this year but they were unable to go ahead due to the government’s Covid-19 restrictions at the time.

We know that this will come as a disappointment to those of you that entered these events. It was our intention to hold them in 2021. But, when we started the planning for the 2021 events over two months ago (i.e. before the recent vaccine trial results were announced, let alone approved for use), we wanted to give next years events the best possible chance of going ahead even if the government’s Covid-19 secure guidelines were still in place.

It soon became apparent that some venues that we’d planned to use this year would not allow us to do so in 2021 if things weren’t “back to normal”. And some locations would not want us to hold a Questars event in their area if Covid-19 secure guidelines were still in place. For this reason we have had to seek and use different venues and locations for 2021.

Again we are very sorry for any impact this may have on you. However, as I’m sure you can imagine, with the loss of all our events (and hence business) due to Covid-19 this year, we need to do everything within our power to ensure next year’s events do actually go ahead. We are therefore planning accordingly to make sure all the 2021 events are as resilient as they can be to whatever the Covid-19 situation is at the time.

Hopefully, Questars will be able to return to Dorset and the Brecon Beacons in 2022. But, in the meantime, it is hoped that those of you who entered the 2020 Dorset Adventure Race will be able to join us at Race 4 next year which is only 35 miles away. And the closest event to Brecon is Race 1 in May so 2020 Brecon Beacons race entrants may wish to transfer their entries over to this adventure race.

How to Transfer Your Entry Over

If you entered the 2020 Dorset Coast Adventure Race and/or the 2020 Brecon Beacons Adventure Race then you can transfer your entry over to any one of the events in 2021 for free, if that’s what you want to do. We’ll send you an email over the next couple days with details telling you how to go about doing this. Please only contact us if you haven’t received this email from us by Monday 7th December, and remember to double check your junk/spam folder first.
