Long Mynd Event Details
Our 25th Anniversary 25-hour event is set in a spectacular location on and around the glorious Long Mynd in Shropshire.
The event is open to teams of two and four (Open/Female/Mixed) and involves kayaking, mountain biking, running/trekking and the odd special stage thrown in for good measure.
The course will be split into a series of short(ish) stages (one to three hours each) with mandatory and optional checkpoints on each stage. The use of optional checkpoints means our event will challenge everyone irrespective of experience. The minimum distance for the event will be circa 100km whilst the maximum distance will be circa 250km.
The race will start on the morning of Saturday 24 October. Although the event is planned for teams to race through, most transition areas (particularly overnight) will have places for teams to sleep and rest, should they wish.
The entry fee includes:
- Race maps marked with all checkpoints and printed on waterproof paper
- Kayaks, paddles, PFDs for paddle stages (you can use your own paddles and PFDs, should you wish)
- Event photography
- Event medical support
- Team trackers
- Electronic timing
- Indoor transition areas
- Special stages
- Post-race slap-up breakfast
- Finisher memento
- Emotional support/kicks up the backside to help you through
Limited bunk bed accommodation is available for the duration of the weekend (Friday to Monday) at £60 per person. Camping/vanning available.
We look forward to seeing you in October for a weekend of adventure, misadventure and memories!

We will release the kit list in March, this will be based on our regular mandatory safety kit plus a few additional mandatory and recommended items (such as head torches given you’ll be racing in the dark!)
The start location is a closely guarded secret! All racers will meet in Church Stretton on Saturday morning to be bussed to the remote start location.
Yes. You will need a mountain bike with a minimum of 100mm of travel (front suspension) and 2.1 inch tyres
Questars adventure races are challenging for everyone, irrespective of your ability or previous experience. With the added elements of sleep deprivation, the 25 hour event is different to our regular events but equally as satisfying.
