Directions & Parking

Parking and camping is in this grass field at Gilestone Farm, Station Rd, Talybont-on-Usk, LD3 7JE

This map shows the location of Gilestone Farm more accurately than the postcode.

Follow the flourescent yellow event signage from Station Road to the event field. The entrance to the event field is on the right-hand side of this photo which was taken as you approach Gilestone Farm and this photo shows the entrance to the event field.

You must park in the event field at Gilestone Farm unless directed otherwise. You must not under any circumstance park on any of the roads / streets in Talybont-on-Usk at any time during the weekend. This is one of the key conditions of us being able to use the Henderson Hall. Please adhere to this so as not to cause congestion and upset the local residents. Anyone who flouts this will be disqualified.

Team members are expected to share transport and tents. Space is provided for one vehicle and one tent for every two people in a team. Please help us by adhering to this where possible.

Parking and camping is in the same field so you can pitch your tent next to your vehicle but please be sensible - don't pitch your tent where it'll be in the way of vehicles or the field entrance / exit.

There is a drinking water tap in the event field but you may want to bring some water / containers with you to save you walking back and forth too many times.

There are no toilets in the event field so you may wish to stop off and use the public conveniences in the layby on the A40 (approx. 1 km away), just before you arrive. The event toilets are located in the Henderson Hall. If needed, additional public toilets can be found around the side of the Henderson Hall next to the Bike Hub, bring a few 10p coins just in case you wish to use these. You may also wish to bring some £1 coins to use the public bike wash facilities there.

The Henderson Hall is approximately 500m from the parking and camping field, so best to allow 2-5 minutes to cycle or 5-10 minutes to walk between the two. If you do cycle, remember to bring a lock so you can securely lock your bike up outside whilst you are inside the Henderson Hall (for registration / the briefing / getting food and drink / resting and relaxing in between stages). If you don't want to go back and forth between the hall and your vehicle / tent then you are welcome to leave a bag / box in the Henderson Hall with your things in (at your own risk of course). The hall will be manned throughout.

The route from the parking and camping field to the Henderson Hall is not lit (so you will need a torch when it's dark) but it will be signed with black arrows on yellow boards.

Final Word

It has taken quite a bit of work to convince the local community to let us hire the Henderson Hall, so please respect this and be considerate by making sure you...

- park only where directed (no on street parking is permitted what-so-ever)
- moderate your speed when running / cycling through the village
- keep your voices down in the village (especially at night)
- don't bring any bikes inside the village hall

We don't want to disqualify anyone but if you don't do the above then you may leave us with no choice!

Remember to...

• Respect the area and the local community
• Be great ambassadors for adventure racing
• Stay on permitted routes at all times
• Give way to members of the public
• Give all animals a wide berth
