Extra Maps

Each team pack contains a course map printed on A3 waterproof paper pre marked with all the available checkpoints. If a team would like an extra map order these here by clicking on the Extra Map 'Buy Now' button (on the right hand side of the page) by Sunday 22 March. This is the new method to order extra maps. Teams that have previously indicated that they would like an extra map also now need to pay for it online as outlined above.

questars event base is at Moyles Court school near Ringwood (postcode: BH24 3NF). There will be Quest signage directing you there from Ellingham Cross on the A338 two miles north of the A338/A31 junction.

View map of event base location here.

Car Parking

Car parking is going to be quite tight. Please do share transport. If each team comes in one vehicle it’ll be much kinder to the environment and you’ll also be able to talk team tactics on the way!

Facilities at questars event base include:

  • a large indoor sports hall for the Race Briefings and Prize Giving plus showers and toilets
  • hot food and drinks available throughout the day - food available includes sausage baps upon arrival and throughout the day (including at transition), and a hot dish available throughout the afternoon and after the race
  • sports massage provided by coastmassage
  • map pens available to buy from the enquiries desk.
  • Likeys shop with adventure racing clothing and kit.

Quest is delighted that Likeys are one of questars event partners as they share Quest’s passion for the outdoors and also take part in a variety of competitive events themselves. Matt and Barry from Likeys were in fact the overall winners of the last questars event of 2008. They have a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for competitive outdoor events and will be pleased to talk to you about what clothing and kit is best for taking part in a questars. Do check out their great range of adventure racing and outdoor clothing and kit at or call them on 01874 711850

The kayaking stage will take place on Ellingham water ski lake, less than a mile away from the event base at Moyles Court school. The kayaking course will be a ‘hub and spoke’ type course – which means that after visiting each kayak checkpoint teams need to immediately validate that point by visiting the ‘X’ checkpoint. So you’ll be radiating out and back like the spokes of a wheel – it should make for quite a sight.
