Quest is expanding the number of events next year to enable more people to take part.

In addition to the one day Questars events, we are building upon the success of the first weekend Q2 The Quest Challenge with two more Q2 events in 2011.

There’s also QX - a brand new Off Road Duathlon and Trail Run series for the winter months.

Entry is now open for all 2011 Questars events. Enter online here.

In 2010 every Questars event sold out with more participants taking part than ever before.

'Simply awesome - when is the next one?'

'It was all brilliant. We loved it all - fantastic'

So Quest is expanding the number of events and formats next year to enable more people to take part. In addition to the one day Questars events, we are building upon the success of the first weekend Q2 The Quest Challenge with two more Q2 events in 2011. There’s also QX. This brand new event series for the winter months has both an off road duathlon and trail run.

Entry for all these events is now open. The Quest online entry system has been developed to make it easier and quicker to enter.

Do click on the links above, or read on below, to find out more about the exciting events from Quest in 2011. Please spread the word. Why not forward this email to friends that you think would enjoy the challenge, countryside, choice and camaraderie that are integral to Questars?

Questars 2011

The first event in the Questars Adventure Race Series in the New Forest is always very popular so it’s again going to run on two days. Masters teams and those taking part in the Questars Duo event compete on Saturday 26 March and Novices on Sunday 27 March. We’ll be exploring the western ridge of the New Forest plateau and the Avon Valley.

On 21 May Questars will be in the fabulous Brecon Beacons. Great adventure racing terrain is guaranteed with wonderful views of the high peaks and kayaking on the Monmouth & Brecon canal.

In the summer, Questars is returning to a favourite location, the Wiltshire Downs on 16 July. Kayaking will be on another canal and biking and trail running over the surrounding chalk hills and vales.

The final event in the Questars series will be in another popular venue, the Cotswold Hills on 3 September. Based from Pershore College we’ll be kayaking on a very scenic stretch of the River Avon and exploring Cotswold villages, lanes and of course just a few more hills.

As all Questars events sold out in 2009 and in 2010 it’s recommended that you enter online early to be sure of gaining a place. There’s a discount if you enter all four events in the Questars series by the end of the year. Click here to find out how.

Q2 The Quest Challenge

Here’s just some of the feedback about the first Q2 The Quest Challenge weekend event held in April 2010:

'A great event, I really enjoyed the format and variety'

'Fantastic fun and a great experience'

'Good challenge, good food, good people, great atmosphere. Want to do another one...'

Q2 is designed, like all Questars, to appeal to all comers from complete novices to the most experienced adventure racers. There’s a great deal of choice as to the distances and routes taken to enable everyone to set their own level of challenge. There’s rest and recovery time between the various parts that comprise this multi stage event. Q2 The Quest Challenge events include a campsite for those that wish to stay close to the event base.

On 16 & 17 April we’ll be returning to the same venue as last April’s Q2 – the highly scenic Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. There’ll be more novel innovations, formats, courses and challenges in 2011.

On 1 & 2 October 2011 there’ll be another Q2 The Quest Challenge weekend. This time it’s in the largest lowland forest area in England – Thetford Forest on the borders of Suffolk and Norfolk.

QX Off Road Races

QX or Quest X Terrain events take place in the winter months. The QX Off Road Duathlon follows a run / bike / run format. Like the QX Trail Run the courses will be marked so there's no need for navigation. QX combines the best of trail running and endurance mountain biking mixed in with a bit of mud and lots of fun! There’ll be both short and long course options available. QX events are designed for everyone whatever your ability. Whether you have never raced before or race every weekend, whether you are a sprinter or an endurance athlete.

The first QX event is in Berkshire on Sunday 20 Februaury 2011 and is based at Wasing Park, near Reading. Planning is also under way for the series of QX events that will take place during the 2011-2012 winter months.

Quest’s New Online Entry System

Questars and Q2 The Quest Challenge weekends are all now open for entries. Entries for QX will open up next week. The same Quest Online Entry System covers all three types of event.

We’ve also made some improvements to the entry system that means you can:

  • retrieve your details when you enter other Quest events in the future, saving you time
  • update and amend your team entry after it has been made, so if you need to add or change a team mates details you can do this yourself
  • enter more than one event at a time and also order extra maps more easily

Full details about the new online entry system can be found on the Questars website here
