The Rivette QUESTars Adventure Race Series

The Malverns Q2 Adventure Race

Kit List

What you NEED to bring...

Per Person:

  • A well-maintained mountain bike. If you need to hire a bike you must book it in advance
  • Cycle helmet
  • A back pack big enough to carry everything you need with you
  • A head torch / torch plus some spare batteries for Stage 3 (night stage on foot)

Per Team:

  • Bike tools (including puncture repair kit, pump and spare inner tube)
  • A first aid kit, emergency foil blanket and whistle
  • The mobile phone specified on your entry - carry this with you for emergency contact

What we ADVISE you to bring...

  • A hydration system / water bottle
  • Energy bars, gel or similar race food to eat on-the-go
  • Wind and waterproof outer layers (the hills are very exposed to the elements)
  • Race clothing to provide layers to keep you warm including hat and gloves
  • Running shoes with a decent off-road tread
  • Watch
  • Compass
  • Permanent pen for writing on the map - required for some stages (available to purchase on the day)
  • A plastic kit box with a lid / waterproof bag to place in transition with your things in
  • A lock to slip round your bike / bikes when not being used
  • A bell for your bike to warn others of your approach - the hills are popular with walkers
  • Reflective clothing for Stage 3 (night stage on foot) - there are a few short sections on roads

Plus if you're camping on site you'll need to bring all your own camping equipment - tent, sleeping mat, sleeping bag etc. There will be onsite catering throughout the weekend so you don't have to bring cooking equipment unless you want to.

Additional Notes

  • GPS devices may be carried with you to record your route for personal post-race analysis purposes. Please think carefully before uploading any recorded GPS data to the internet as you may leave us with no option but to take retrospective action if your GPS data shows you used a route that wasn't permitted.
  • GPS devices must not be used to view your position during the race.
