Kayak paddles replaced

The new paddles are a vast improvement on the old split paddles used previously by questars competitors. Key features include:

• slightly curved assymmetric mid-sized blades
• lightweight aluminium shaft
• 75° feather

The paddles are ideal for kayaking on flat water and in the sea by both beginner and experienced paddlers alike, making them most suitable for questars adventure races. 

They are made by a French company called Égalis who have specialised in the manufacture of oars and paddles since 1965 and who export their products all over the world. Égalis paddles are imported and distributed in the UK by Totaloption; one of the UK's largest specialist watersports equipment suppliers. 

According to the manufacturer, these paddles:

• enable high speeds to be reached with minimum effort
• are equally well adapted for sprint or mixed rhythm kayaking
• are comfortable and well balanced
• are perfect for endurance paddling
• are ideal for fast starts requiring the kayaker to get away rapidly
