Cannock Chase Questars, Sat 11 Sept
Cannock Chase is a wonderful area for adventure racing. The Questars team have just completed final recceing for this event and are as enthusiastic as ever about the very varied terrain and huge amount of route choices available there. It’s an amazing piece of countryside with a surprisingly remote feel given its proximity to Birmingham and the Black Country and easy accessibility from the M6.
Places for the Questars Trio event (ie including kayaking, mountain biking and trail running) are being booked up fast so only a few are now still available. If you’d like to take part in this final event of the 2010 Questars series then do enter online here quickly.
Questars in 2010
More people have participated in Questars events this year than ever before. Each event has sold out.
Just as its great to see many returning for every event it is also good to welcome many newcomers. The Questars format, that allows you to choose where to go and how much distance to cover, appeals to total novices through to some of the most experienced adventure racers in the country. There are two categories, for Novices and Masters, with many prize classes within both categories. Additionally for those that do not wish to kayak there is a Questars Duo class.
Its been particularly pleasing to see people from many other sports, including triathletes, orienteers, cyclists and runners, come and try Questars and so enjoy the new experience of adventure racing.
A glimse into Questars 2011
A lot of people have already been asking us about next year’s Questars events. Plans for these are now well advanced. We’ll be announcing the exciting 2011 series of events at the Cannock Chase Questars on 11 September and details will be put up here on the Questars website shortly afterwards.
For those that can’t wait till then suffice to say that next year’s dates will be following a very similar pattern to those of this and previous years for the one day Questars. In addition given the great success of the first two day Questars, known as Q2 The Quest Challenge in Dorset last April, we are planning another one or even two of these weekend events in 2011.
Quest Charity Challenge events
Did you know that the Quest team also organise a series of Charity Challenge events for different organisations across the country?
These varied events range from ones very similar to Questars, through to others that include lots of additional Challenges and some that are more walks than races. Significant sums are raised for many different charities through these events.
For example we arranged a Charity Challenge in Dorset last Saturday which raised a very good amount for the Royal British Legion and the Make A Wish charities; find out more about the event here. Another is in September in Norfolk, and that event is raising funds for Clic Sargent; click here to see this events website.
If you’d like to know more about these types of events do contact us at info@questtgo.com
The Questars team looks forward to seeing you at a future Questars event.
